Bali, Indonesia

Welcome to Bali

Welcome to the paradise island of Bali, where ancient traditions meet breathtaking natural beauty. Nestled in the heart of Indonesia, Bali is a destination that captivates the senses and beckons travelers to explore its diverse landscapes and vibrant culture.

Bali enchants with its emerald-green rice terraces, pristine beaches, and dense rainforests, setting the stage for a luxurious wellness escape. Whether you desire relaxation on the golden sands of Seminyak or seek inner harmony within Ubud's serene rice fields, Bali provides the backdrop for your tropical wellness journey. Dive into crystal-clear waters to discover vibrant coral reefs or embark on exhilarating treks through the island's volcanic terrain.

Best Time to Visit

  • April to October marks Bali's dry season, offering sunny weather with lower humidity and minimal rainfall.

July and August are the peak tourist months, ensuring excellent weather, although it may be more crowded and accommodations may cost more.

  • Bali experiences its wet season from November to March, characterized by regular rainfall and higher humidity.

December and January typically see increased rainfall and humidity, making it less ideal for outdoor activities.

Ultimately, the ideal time to visit Bali depends on your preferences. If you prefer dry, sunny weather and wish to enjoy Bali's exquisite experiences without large crowds, opt for the dry season. For those seeking a serene and exclusive escape, the wet season can offer lush green landscapes and the opportunity to relish Bali's unique charm. Keep in mind that Bali's tropical climate means rain can occur at any time, so checking the weather forecast before your trip is advisable.

A Taste of Indonesia

Indonesian cuisine blends many cultural influences—Chinese, Indian, Portuguese and dutch. Only moderately spicy, most dishes use varieties of ginger, garlic, turmeric for heat and flavor, rather than cayenne or chilies. Try their national dish of Nasi goreng - this tasty take on Asian fried rice is often made with sweet, thick soy sauce called kecap (pronounced ketchup) and garnished with acar, pickled cucumber and carrots.

General Info

Culture: Bali is deeply rooted in its Hindu traditions and customs—respect Balinese culture by dressing modestly when visiting temples or participating in religious ceremonies. Cover your shoulders and wear a sarong around your waist. Avoid pointing with your feet or touching people’s heads; it is disrespectful.

Safety: Bali is generally safe, but petty theft can occur in crowded tourist areas. Use hotel safes for valuables and keep an eye on your belongings.

Food and Water: Tap water is not safe for drinking. Stick to bottled water and avoid ice from street vendors. Choose reputable restaurants for hygienic meals.

Cuisine: Bali offers diverse culinary experiences, from traditional Balinese to international dishes. Established restaurants and resorts maintain high food hygiene standards.

Currency and Payments: The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Cash is widely accepted, especially in smaller places. Credit cards work in upscale establishments. ATMs are accessible in tourist areas.

Tipping: Tipping is not expected but appreciated for exceptional service, especially in upscale venues. Some places may include a service charge.

Transportation: Ngurah Rai International Airport is the main gateway. Outtravelled will book private drivers and tour guides exploring Bali's attractions and transfers.

Renting Vehicles: Renting a car can allow for independent exploration. Ensure a valid driver's license and follow local traffic rules, especially on busy roads. We highly advise against renting or driving scooters in Bali.
